As with all crystals, it’s important to cleanse and charge your crystals every once in a while to ensure you’re getting the most out of them.  It also shows that you love it.

Thankfully, amazonite is very easy to charge and cleanse, which you’re about to find out.

In this guide, let’s explore the proper ways to cleanse and charge your amazonite stone.

How to cleanse amazonite

#1 Moon and sunlight

One of the best ways to charge your amazonite is simply by placing it beneath the sun or the full moon for about four to six hours.  Ideally, you should place it on a selenite plate, as selenite is greatly known for its cleaning properties and it does not need to be cleansed.  If you don’t already have a selenite plate, it’s highly recommended that you purchase one as it’s ideal for charging just about any crystal.

They say that the full moon is very potent, and it’s said to have a great effect on our moods and overall well being.  Since the full moon is a culmination of the lunar cycle that’s ending, this is a way to release any energies the crystals are holding in.  When the moon phase changes, your crystal is now full of new energies, which haven’t been seen before.  Make sure you take your crystals in just before the sun is about to rise.  If you decide to let it sit in the sun instead of the moonlight, just be sure to bring your crystals in after a few hours to avoid any discolorations.

If you don’t have a selenite plate, that’s okay, as you can place it directly on the ground, preferably grass.  In doing so, this can help bring the negative energy back to the Earth so that it can be recycled.

#2 Smoke/smudging

Smudging your crystals is a non-invasive way to get rid of lingering energies, according to spiritualists.  It’s an ancient ritual that’s said to help with purifying objects as well as the atmosphere.

To “smudge” your crystals, you will want to use either palo santo, sage or rosemary.  Simply light the tip of these sticks and allow the crystal to sit in the smoke plumes so that it’s fully exposed.  Again, not only will it cleanse the amazonite in this case, but it will also cleanse the area in which your crystals are displayed.  Spiritualists believe that you should only smudge porous crystals as the smoke won’t mess with the structural composition.

#3 Selenite

Touching upon the moon and sunlight, you can simply use a selenite charging plate if you don’t want to wait for the full moon or maybe you don’t have the space to do so, such as an outdoor area.

Selenite, no doubt, is the king of crystal cleaners.  It’s a very unique crystal that magnifies natural energy and then works to purify the crystals it comes in contact with.  If you were to cleanse with selenite, it’s extremely simple, as all you have to do is set the crystal on the plate and let it sit for at least 24 hours.  In doing so, it’s said that it gives it enough time to help the selenite plate absorb the energies around it.

#4 Water

Water is okay to use with amazonite, however, don’t let it sit in the water for hours.  Instead, you will want to let it simply pass through the water while running it under a faucet. Ideally, this water should be luke warm.  Soaking your amazonite for too long could cause the crystal to degrade.

Also, it’s highly important to avoid using amazonite as a crystal elixir as it does contain some strains of lead, which would make the water poisonous.

To stress, run amazonite under the water for only a minute or two and always make sure it’s tap water, never salt. Amazonite should never go in salt water.

#5 Burying

Lastly, burying any crystal, including amazonite is a great way to recharge and cleanse your crystals.

In your backyard, dig a small hole, maybe about three to four inches deep and completely bury your crystals.  Just make sure you mark it so that you know where to go the next day.

After you bury it, allow it to sit there for 24 hours so that the earth can naturally cleanse it with its energy.  Unbury and rinse it off using the strategy mentioned above and your amazonite will now have a new sense of energy.
