Hematite for Sale

Hematite Quick Notes

Hematite is mainly known for its black color with a metallic shine; however, due to the higher iron content, it’s more of a blood red.  It’s durable, strong and it’s a very heavy stone in comparison to most.  Made of iron oxide and iron ore, it’s one of the few metallic shiny looking stones you can buy.  It’s mainly mined in Africa and Brazil; however, you can find it in other parts of the world such as Switzerland and Canada, along the shores of Lake Superior.

With many names of the years, it was first found centuries ago by the ancient Greeks.  At the time, they referred to it as haima, which is known as blood.  It was also known as iron rose, which was named after the connection it had to the earth.  Well before we had pencils and pens, prehistoric humans used this stone as a way to draw on cave walls. The Egyptians even used it as a part of decorations while Native Americans used it for war paint.

Metaphysically, hematite is used to help give you the confidence you need as well as a sense of protection.  Historically, soldiers would carry this stone to battle as it was said to help protect any excessive bleeding.  It’s said to be linked to the root chakra which keeps you grounded and gives you a sense of stability.  Because hematite has a heavy amount of iron, it has commonly been linked to our blood.  Due to this, it’s said to help circulate blood.

The best way to use hematite is to wear it as close to the skin as you can.  Whether it’s a necklace or ring, the strength of this stone may be able to bring you a variety of benefits.
