Blue Kyanite Meaning and Properties

Blue kyanite is a type of mineral made of aluminum silicate that forms long, thin structures or sometimes more chunky or fibrous shapes.  It ranges from a baby blue to a dark indigo, sometimes almost looking black. A.G. Werner first found it in 1789, and named it using the Greek word for “blue”, which is “kuanos”.  It’s found all throughout the world, but mainly in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Namibia, and Kenya.
